A WET PLATE COLLODION EXPEDITION, 5th and 6th of August 2023

WHAT? A Wet Plate Collodion Expedition will be a weekend event in the wilderness of Slovenia’s forests, under the art direction of Borut Peterlin with Špela Gornik

THE PROGRAM?
In the past years, from 2016, we had four Wet Plate Collodion events in the forest of Kočevski Rog, Slovenia. Last year we had the whole week event, but this year we had some organisation challenges, so the event will be only for a weekend. I, the organiser, Borut Peterlin will prepare a content on the 19th Century photographic processes like wet plate collodion photography, albumen printing, salt printing and the newly invented process polymer fum-printing.

An exhibition opening. In the past year the exhibition A New Earth was exhibited twice in Slovenia, twice in Czech Republic and once also in Portugal. The exhibition tour of 30 carbon prints from ultra-large format collodion glass negatives will be finishing in the woods where it was created by its author Borut Peterlin.

I will invite also people from no-photographic backgrounds to join and bring their own energy, their own expertise and passion. For example Špela Gornik will hold a program on conscious relationships. Also two hour hike through the forest will be organised.  We will also have a bonfire, a guitar a drum and good mood.

It’s free of charge, only voluntary contributions
I feel guilty for failing to organise the whole week event, so I offer this deal. If you bring your own tent and food, join in for free. If you want we will organise food and we have about 20 beds in the cabin, so all can be arranged. Please email us to borutpeterlin@gmail.com

WHERE? In the middle of Kočevski Rog, Slovenia, in one of the deepest forests of Europe (LINK to Google Maps: 45°39’19.8″N 15°02’27.2″E)

WHO? For photographers and lovers of nature and their families!

ACCOMMODATION? Camping places and rooms will be available. Nearest B&B is 30 minutes drive in the valley.

FOOD & DRINKS?  Bring your own food and drinks or if you are traveling from far, let us know what you need and we’ll organise it.
